In 2013, 24 Bike Down riders spent three days building community, exploring the California coast, whale watching, eating delicious meals, visiting organic farms, and connecting with allies at bike projects like the Watsonville Bike Shack. Along the way, they raised over $15,000 for Cycles of Change – money that went directly to support Cycles of Change programs to get youth and adults in the East Bay on bikes.
As one participant said, “by the end of the ride, I knew that I’d remember this experience for a lifetime”. Another called it “…one of the best ways imaginable to spend a weekend!”
This year, you’re invited to take part in this epic ride. Bike Down 2014 is about building – building community with Cycles supporters, staff, volunteers, (and you!); building the grassroots movement to support the next generation of youth leaders; and building the capacity of Cycles of Change to provide bike education and resources to more people each year.
From June 20th – 22nd, Bike Down 2014 will feature beautiful bike riding around Marin county and a kayak tour of Tomales Bay, ending with a private campsite on the beach. For more info and to sign up, click here.
DEADLINE TO APPLY IS APRIL 15th! All riders will be provided with fundraising support, free access to a bicycle (if needed) and help from the Bikery’s top notch mechanics to get your bike in shape for the ride, and more!
